Have You Registered?

Many people go through life thinking that if they live a good life, (i.e. do more good things than bad things) when they die they will automatically be granted entrance into Heaven. The truth is you need to pre-register.

Revelation 20:12 says: And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

Friend, it doesn’t matter how good you have been in life (Isaiah 64:6; Romans 3:23; 6:16,23). No amount of education, good works, or sincere beliefs can grant you an entrance into God’s presence.

Revelation 20:15 declares, “If anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.” The Book of Life is the set of names of those who will live with God forever in heaven. It is the roll of those who are saved. This Book of Life is also mentioned in Revelation 3:5; 20:12; and Philippians 4:3. The same book is also called the Lamb’s Book of Life because it contains the names of those who have been redeemed by the blood of the Lord Jesus (Revelation 13:8; 21:27).

How can you be sure your name is written in the Book of Life? Be sure you’re saved. Repent of your sins and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior (Philippians 4:3; Revelation 3:5).

Romans 10:9-10 says, That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Verse 13 says, for whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Let me encourage you to make your reservation today. Don’t be like *Burt Monroe who traveled halfway around the world to break the land speed record, only to find he could not enter the race because he had forgotten to register.

It’s not too late to register… make your reservation for Heaven today!

(* Note: Bart Monroe is a character in the movie “The World’s Fastest Indian” played by Anthony Hopkins. A man who never let the dreams of youth fade. In the late 1960’s, after a lifetime of perfecting his classic Indian Motorcycle, Burt sets off from the bottom of the world, Invancargill, New Zealand, to clock his bike at Utah’s Bonneville Salt Flats. When he gets there, he finds out that he cannot enter the race because he forgot to register. See video link below.)
